Build reusable workout templates, or start from Guided Workout
Templates are plans you can start again and again. Build one by hand, or let Guided Workout draft a strength or cardio session you review before saving.
If you run the same kinds of sessions every week, rebuilding them each time wastes the first few minutes of training. A workout template in TandemFit is a reusable plan for strength or cardio. You can build one by hand, or let Guided Workout draft one from a few choices and edit it before saving.
What is the difference between a template and a workout?
Templates are plans. Active workouts are logs. When you start a template, TandemFit copies it into an active workout and leaves the reusable plan unchanged. Editing a template later changes future starts, not workouts you already completed.
A template can hold exercises, sets, rest, notes, gym context, and equipment, plus details about where it came from if it was imported.
Where do I find my templates?
Tap Workouts, then open My Templates. Tap a template card to review its exercises, sets, and start options, then tap Start when you are ready to train.
Archive templates you rarely use. Archived templates stay out of the active list without deleting their history.
How do I build a template by hand?
- From My Templates, tap +. A new private strength template draft opens in Workout Settings.
- Add a clear title, an optional description, target duration, default gym, and default rest time.
- Tap Add Exercises and choose movements from the exercise library. Filters and exercise details help when you need a specific variation.
- Set the work: sets, reps, weight, time, distance, rest, tracking modes, notes, and circuits.
- Check the equipment context so future starts understand what the plan needs.
- Tap Save.
What does Guided Workout do?
Guided Workout builds a session from your time, relative difficulty, and training setup, and shows it to you before anything is saved. From My Templates, tap Guided Workout.
- Choose Strength or Cardio, set the target duration, and pick Light, Moderate, or Challenging. Difficulty is scaled from your learned ability and recent performance rather than a generic beginner-to-advanced label.
- For strength, choose the split, focus muscles, training focus, workout style, and muscles to avoid. For cardio, choose the activity, indoor or outdoor when supported, and whether you want intervals or a steady session.
- Make the final choice. Strength finishes with the gym or personal equipment you have available. Cardio finishes on a workout type page filtered by your earlier choices.
- Tap Preview Workout. The plan opens in Workout Settings so you can inspect and adjust it.
What should I check before saving a generated plan?
Review exercise matches, required equipment, duration, notes, rest, cardio laps, and any custom exercises. Treat the result as a starting point and edit anything that does not fit your body, gym, schedule, or coaching intent. Once saved, it behaves like any other template.
What about workouts I already have somewhere else?
If the workout already exists as a video, a note, or a photo, Smart Import inside template settings can build the draft for you. See turn a workout video, note, or whiteboard photo into a template.
