Add your home gym gear and report missing gym equipment

Tell TandemFit what you own and what your gym actually has, so templates and equipment checks match the place you train.

A workout plan is only useful if you can do it where you are. TandemFit keeps two separate records of equipment: the personal gear you own or carry with you, and the shared inventory of a public gym. Keeping both accurate helps templates and required-equipment checks reflect what is really available.

What is the difference between personal gear and gym equipment?

Personal gear is equipment you own, keep at home, or bring with you: adjustable dumbbells, bands, a bench, a jump rope. It lives in your Home Gym and can be selected as personal gear in workouts and templates, even when a public gym does not list it.

Gym equipment belongs to a public gym. When you report something there, you update the shared inventory for that gym, which helps you and other members.

The two stay separate. Portable gear goes in your Home Gym, not in a gym report.

How do I add personal gear?

  1. Tap Profile in the bottom tabs.
  2. Open the Home Gym tab on your profile.
  3. Tap the plus button, then Search equipment, and type the item name.
  4. Select the closest catalog item. If nothing matches, use the create or custom option.
  5. Enter the quantity first. Add size, brand, model, notes, or photos if you know them.
  6. Tap Save.

The item then appears in your Home Gym and can be picked as personal gear.

How do I report equipment at a gym?

Start by making sure the workout or template is set to the correct public gym. A report goes to whichever gym is selected, so this step matters.

  1. Open the equipment picker, or look at a Required equipment row in a generated template.
  2. If the gym is missing the item, tap Report Equipment or Report here.
  3. Search for the equipment and pick the closest catalog item, or use the create or custom option.
  4. Enter the quantity you saw at the gym, plus size, brand, model, notes, or photos if you know them.
  5. Tap Submit or Save.

Use a report when something is missing or when the listed quantity or details are wrong.

When does this come up during planning?

Equipment context shows up in a few places. Generated templates list required equipment, and that row is one of the places you can report a missing item. Template imports can also flag missing equipment, and depending on the situation you can mark it as available at home or report it for the selected gym.

During a workout, if something you planned on is not there, Swap Exercise in the exercise menu lets you pick a replacement without leaving the session.

Tips for useful entries

  • Enter quantity first; it is the detail most likely to change what you can program.
  • Add brand or model when the same name covers very different machines.
  • A photo helps when a catalog name does not quite describe the item.
