Listening to music during exercise can alter physical output, perceived enjoyment, and how hard a workout feels, though the specific effects depend largely on the intensity and structure of the session. Power Output and Workout Enjoyment
When performing intense interval training, incorporating self-selected music changes key output measures. During repeated all-out cycling bouts, listening to preferred music increased both peak and mean power output compared to exercising in silence.
